Somewhere in the middle of North Jersey and South Jersey exists Central New Jersey and there are some GREAT FREE summer concerts in Central New Jersey this summer. Whether you are closer to the north in Hunterdon County or closer to the south in Monmouth County there are free summer concerts near you.
Below is the Jersey Family Fun Guide to free summer concerts in Central New Jersey aka Central Jersey, and yes we believe a Central Jersey exists. Please keep in mind that while the majority of these Central New Jersey summer concerts on our calendar are free, there may be a fee to attend some. Our event descriptions will always specify if there is a fee involved to attend and if you need to reserve your tickets in advance.
Please also note that for the purpose of this free summer concerts in Central New Jersey guide we have only listed summer concerts that repeat weekly or repeat fairly often during the summer. Music Under the Stars in Flemington 2022
This long-running Hunterdon County sponsored concert series is at the popular Deer Path Park. Enjoy the playground, bring a blanket, and dance to the music on select Thursdays from June to August.
Summer Concerts at the Hunterdon County Library 2022
Flemington Summer Concerts at the Hunterdon County Library will return for 2022. There are concerts in July and August at the library headquarters. Bring a chair and your dancing shoes.
We are still waiting on 2022 details. Head to High Bridge Commons for fun summer concerts this year. There will be two summer concerts in High Bridge this year.

Etra Lake Park hosts some of your favorite summertime tribute bands on select Sundays in July and August. You won't want to miss these!
Hightstown Fun Fridays
We are currently researching to see if this series will be back for 2022, there has not been a concert series since 2019. July, August and September each have a "fun Friday" with food trucks and bands in Association Park. Don't miss these great community gatherings!
We are currently researching to see if this series will be back for 2022, there has not been a concert series since 2019! On Mondays enjoy the Blawenburg Band and on Fridays dance to some local musicians at the gazebo in Borough Park.
In 2019, Hopewell ran a series of summer concerts. We'll let you know if they will be back for 2022.
In past years, Pennington has had park concerts at Howe Commons. They are back this year! There are dates in June, July, and September. Food Trucks and Community fun at the Howe Commons make for some great summer memories.
Palmer Square Summer Music Series 2022

Arts Council of Princeton Summer Concert Series 2022
The Arts Council of Princeton Summer Concert Series will be back for 2022. Most Thursday evenings this summer, an eclectic mix of music awaits at the Princeton Shopping Center. Bring a chair!
Princeton Summer Concert Series at MarketFair
We are currently researching to see if this series will be back for 2021. One more great concert series in Princeton takes place at MarketFair! Finish up your shopping early on Wednesdays and enjoy a variety of musical genres.
Princeton Summer Concerts at Community Park North Amphitheatre
We are currently researching to see if this series will be back for 2022. There haven't been concerts here since 2019. Saturdays in July get more musical at the Community Park North Amphitheatre.
Tuesdays in July bring the music to Robbinsville! Enjoy your neighbors and bust out your dance moves.
As of June 3, there were no details about this concert returning for 2022. Head into the city's Mill Hill neighborhood to enjoy a variety of musical talents from July to August. Enjoy the sounds of live music with your neighbors!
Mercer County Park Concerts in Trenton 2022
As part of the Mercer County Park Concerts, there will be concerts in Trenton at 2 different locations this summer.

Carteret has it going on with several different outdoor summer concert series in New Jersey. Joseph Medwick Park, Carteret Waterfront Park, and Carteret Park will all be bringing families weekly summer concerts.
We're excited to share the Dunellen's Music in the Park Concert Series that the Dunellen Arts & Culture Commission just introduced. Their free summer concerts in NJ happen biweekly in Washington Park.

We do not believe these concerts are returning for 2022. Details for the other Middlesex County Concerts in the Parks have been released but they did not include events for Edison. The Middlesex County Music in the Parks series will include summer concerts in Edison. Check out these Edison summer concerts happening from July into late August.
Another new-to-us summer concert series is the Highland Park Concerts at Donaldson County Park. These free summer concerts in Highland Park occur about every 2 weeks in July and August.
Summer Concerts in Jamesburg are back for Summer 2022
As of June 15, 2022 there are no details about this event for 2022. Monroe Township holds a series of concerts at Thompson Park and they'll be back for 2021.
As of June 21, 2022 there are no details about this event for 2022. Bring your lawn chairs and dancing feet as the North Brunswick Township Concerts in the Park series returns for 2021!
In previous years, Old Bridge had free concerts in Geick Park. As of June 21, 2022 there are no details about this event for 2022.
Live at the Ferry Slip 2022
Perth Amboy summer concerts are back for 2022. Enjoy great live music and beautiful views of Raritan Bay! Hang out at the Historic Ferry Slip and enjoy the chill vibe of the Perth Amboy Waterfront. The show is free and all ages. There is room for dancing and some limited seating available.
Perth Amboy Concerts By the Bay 2022
Perth Amboy outdoor summer concerts by the bay in Bayview Park are back for 2022.
We are currently researching to see if this series will be back for 2022. The Piscataway Summer Concerts have not been held since 2019. Thursday nights from July 11th to August 29th at Columbus Park is where you'll want to be! Hear some great bands and hang out with your neighbors.
In 2019, there were free movies in Plainsboro with concerts. They will be back for 2022.
Middlesex County hosts a series of Music in the Parks summer concerts. They will be back in South Amboy for 2022.
We are currently researching to see if this series will be back for 2022. The last three Fridays in July bring concerts to Woodlot Park. Bring a chair or blanket and enjoy the tunes with your neighbors!
South Plainfield Concerts at Spring Lake Park are back for 2022. This year there are MORE concerts that there were in previous years.
No town in Middlesex County hosts more concerts than Woodbridge! See a live act Tuesday, Wednesday, or Sunday at Woodbridge High School Fields.

Each summer Aberdeen likes to provide outdoor entertainment for the community. To fill this need, they have created a summer concert series that people can enjoy at Veteran's Memorial Park. It runs throughout July and August.
Asbury Park Summer Concerts at Bradley Park
Thursdays bring live music to Asbury Park! The Asbury Park Summer Concerts will be held at Bradley Park. Concerts run from the end of June to the beginning of September.
Asbury Park Summer Concerts at Springwood Park 2022
Asbury Park can once again look forward to starting the week with Music Mondays in Springwood Park. There are performances booked through July and August.
In 2019, there were Atlantic Highlands Summer Concerts at the gazebo. As of June 24, 2022 there are no details about this event for 2022.
New to us this year are Avon by the Sea summer concerts. Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays there will be concerts at the Woodland Avenue Boardwalk and Pavilion.
Belmar is hopping with free summer concert series. Belmar summer concerts run from late May through the end of August. Bring a chair and get ready to dance! Local stores and restaurants will be open for concessions.

Bradley Beach Concerts at Riley Park
Saturdays in the Park Concert Series happen Saturday nights in Riley Park in Bradley Beach. Concerts run mid-June through September. Bring a chair!
Bradley Beach Concerts at Beachfront Gazebo at 5th Avenue
These Bradley Beach Summer Concerts will be held at Beachfront Gazebo several times a week.
Bradley Beach Concerts at Newark Avenue Beach
Referred to as Songwriters On The Beach this Bradley Beach concert series takes place at the Newark Avenue Beach.
Fair Haven Dock Concert Series
Starting in June and ending in August, the dock in Fair Haven on Fair Haven Road hosts some great concerts! Concessions will be available for purchase.
Freehold summer concerts are back for 2022. Tuesdays at the mall parking lot bring great bands in July and August, Thursdays downtown in June, July and August, and jazz downtown on Sundays. Freehold is the place to be to enjoy all kinds of musical acts!
New to us is the Hazlet Concerts in Veterans Park series. There are 4 different July concerts, each with a different theme.
So many fun bands on Fridays in July at the Keansburg beaches. Bring a chair or blanket and enjoy the shows!
This July and August enjoy the charming bayfront town of Keyport as they host concerts, the shops and restaurants stay open, and the music will keep you entertained!
Long Branch NJ hosts summer concerts from June - September with some of the biggest and best summer concert bands! Bring a seat but expect to be dancing. Bands by the Beach, Thursdays by the Sea, and Tuesdays on Broadway are the themes for their different summer concert series.
The Manalapan Summer Concerts will be held at Manalapan Recreation Center.
Manasquan Concerts on the Beach are back for 2022. July through August, on Thursdays, head to Main Beach in Manasquan for some fun concerts on the beach stage.
Marlboro hosts a monthly concert at the recreation center in July and August. Bring a chair!
Four summer concerts through July and August bring the community to the Middletown Arts Center. Bring a chair and refreshments!
Ocean Grove Summer Concerts at The Pier
Summer in Ocean Grove just got more fun with these concerts happening in July.
Red Bank Concerts at Riverside Gardens Park 2022
Riverside Gardens will fill with the sounds of jazz on Thursdays in July and August. Check the schedule for actual dates and bring a chair to enjoy the music.

Spring Lake Recreation is happy to announce their 2022 Summer Concert series! The Spring Lake Summer Concerts will be held at various locations. We have them all listed in our event listing.
Wall Summer Performances in the Park
We are currently researching to see if this series will be back for 2021. The fields at the municipal complex host a great lineup of musical acts! Concessions will be sold to benefit the first aid squad and make sure you bring a chair or blanket.
In previous years, West Long Branch held summer concerts at Franklin Lake. As of June 24, 2022 there are no details about this event for 2022.
