Covid Vaccines, Boosters, and Testing

Mendocino Coast Clinics offers drive-through vaccine clinics every Tuesday from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the white tent at 205 South Street in Fort Bragg for anyone aged 12 and up. No appointment is needed. First dose, second dose, and boosters are all available. Parental consent is required for anyone under 18 to receive a vaccine.

COVID vaccines are available by appointment for ages 6 months to 11 years old. Call (707) 964-1251 to schedule your child's vaccine.

COVID testing for people who do not have symptoms is available at the white tent at 205 South Street from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays. No appointment is needed. These tests are shipped to a central lab for processing, and results are usually available from 72 to 96 hours after the tests are received at the lab.

The Adventist Health team has Moderna and the J&J vaccines all available through the Primary Care team located at 721 River Dr., Suite A in Fort Bragg. To make an appointment, call the Adventist Health offices at 707-961-4631 and press option 3 to set a time and date available to receive yours.

Presentation on sea level rise

Donne Brownsey, Chair of the California Coastal Commission, will give a presentation on sea level rise on Tuesday, August 23, at 6 pm. Brownsey will discuss the Commission's efforts to prepare for sea level rise and the multi-faceted way the rising ocean waters will impact the state's coast. Special emphasis will be given to Mendocino County. Rising sea levels affect transportation systems, Public Trust boundaries, water sources, and much more. This important program is sponsored by The League of Women Voters of Mendocino County and the GrassRoots Institute. It will be held via Zoom; find the link at the League's website under the calendar tab. Other sponsoring organizations are Mendocino County Youth for Climate, Jughandle Creek Nature Center, Climate Action Mendocino, Noyo Center for Marine Science, Mendocino County Climate Action Advisory Committee, and Mendocino Land Trust. Cancer Resource Centers of Mendocino County

The Cancer Resource Centers of Mendocino County welcomes volunteers at its offices in Ukiah and Fort Bragg. Especially needed are volunteer drivers, willing to drive cancer patients to medical appointments. Must have a safe, insured vehicle and clean driving record. Also need host/hostesses for a resource center to welcome clients, answer phones, do odd jobs, and do office tasks. Call 467-3828 or email mayte@crcmendocino.org.

State Parks

Support your favorite park by volunteering at a State Park Visitor Center. MendoParks seeks Docents to volunteer at our supported State Parks Visitor Centers providing educational tours, sharing local information, selling items in the gift shop on a point-of-sale system, and performing light housekeeping.

Volunteer opportunities at the Ford House Visitor Center and Museum, Van Damme State Park, Navarro Interpretive Center, Greenwood Museum, and MacKerricher State Park.
