The rock and electric Americana of Ariel Posen continues the free, family-friendly outdoor concerts Monday, Aug. 22, as the Levitt AMP Utica Music Series returns to Kopernik Park in downtown Utica.
Hailing from Winnipeg, Ariel Posen is "one of the most exciting guitar players around" with show stopping extended solos and a rootsy sound that nods to his influences - heartland rock 'n' roll, electrified Americana, blue-eyed soul, R&B, Beatles-inspired pop. Guitar Player wants you to know that "you will witness slide and single-note sleight-of-hand that leaves your jaw on the floor."
Spending much of his childhood on the road with his musical parents, the Canadian guitar genius began playing at 9 years old, kicking off a career that eventually found him traveling the globe for his own gigs, including shows as a member of the Juno Award winning, roots-rock band The Bros. Landreth.

The concert is from 6 to 9 p.m. with opening act Cait Devin. Admission is free and the public is invited to bring their own blankets and lawn chairs to the concerts. The series also will offer art activities for young concert-goers and food trucks will be on site.
