Former Vice President Mike Pence is headed to Iowa while speculation of a 2024 presidential bid continues.

Pence is headed to the important state, where on Aug. 19, he will "serve as the special guest at a lunch in support of U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley." Afterward, he'll head to the state fair alongside Grassley and several other Iowa politicians.

The Iowa State Fair has long been a popular stop for politicians with presidential aspirations - or big ambitions in general. Presidential candidates on both sides of the aisle often attend the fair, with the hopes of gaining traction in the state. Iowa's presidential caucuses are traditionally held before the elections of any other state.

This won't be Pence's first trip to the fair, either. He previously attended in 2016 ahead of the presidential election in which the ticket of former President Donald Trump and Pence won against Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and running mate Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA), and he has been back to the fairgrounds since.

Pence has been making the rounds across the country, campaigning for several state and national candidates. Recently, several of the former vice president's endorsed candidates failed to win primaries in both Arizona and Wisconsin, losing to their Trump-endorsed counterparts.

Notably, the blessing of Trump has been more helpful to Republican hopefuls than that of Pence, former Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, or Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), all of whom are also seen as possible GOP contenders for 2024.

Despite Trump's undeniable endorsement power, recent revelations about the FBI's raid of his Mar-a-Lago residence could spell trouble for his likely 2024 run. However, it's too early to determine voters' views on the saga, as the search warrant was only unsealed on Friday.
