'Impressive' 1920s house that has gates directly onto National Trust land for sale

A home has been listed for sale in Merseyside, on one of the region's most exclusive roads.

The detached five bedroom house, is positioned on an 'impressive' plot on Caldy Road, Wirral. It was built in 1923 but the current owners have fully refurbished the property, making it into a modern open plan family home.

As well as having large front and back gardens, the home also has private gated access to to the National Trust Lands of Caldy Hill. However thanks to its elevated position, 'stunning views' across the Dee Estuary to the Welsh Hills and Hilbre Island can be enjoyed from the grounds of the property. Sunsets are also described as being 'magnificent.'

According to Rightmove's sales data, properties in Caldy had an overall average price of £792,500 over the last year. Most of the sales in the area were detached properties, selling for an average price just shy of £1,000,000 at £925,786.

Semi-detached properties sold for an average of £380,000, with flats fetching £272,000. Altogether, sold prices in Caldy over the last year were 21% down on the previous year and 18% down on the 2012 peak of £969,495.

Market information shows that it's not unusual for properties to be sold for well over the one million mark in the area. It's frequently amongst the top ten most expensive areas, with Caldy Road specifically being the most exclusive across the whole region.

This year, two houses on the street made the 'Top 10 most expensive houses sold' list with a detached house selling for a whopping £2,000,000 and another fetching £1,130,000. The area is known for attracting celebrities and footballers, due to its lavish choice of properties, including Robbie Fowler, Ian Rush and former Everton and Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez.

Images of the home on Rightmove show the ground floor has an open plan aspect, leading from a entrance hall and lounge area. These areas benefit from large windows that overlook the front garden and allow plenty of light into the room.

On this level is a study, snug, playroom, kitchen, garden lounge, dining room, toilet and utility room. After being recently renovated, the home benefits from many luxury and modern features, including a fully integrated kitchen. The kitchen and dining room has sliding patio doors that lead onto a patio area in the garden.

To the first floor there is a main bedroom with dressing area and en-suite bathroom and views over the back garden. Three of the other bedrooms also boast panoramic views and a 'guest suite' with shower room.

One of the other main features of the property are the large gardens which include a lawned area, red rocks, patios and access gate on to the National Trust Lands of Caldy Hill.

Estate agents Bradshaw Farnham and Lea described the home as 'beautifully presented' with 'stunning views.' The listing reads: "An early interior inspection of this impressive detached Caldy house is strongly recommended to fully appreciate the many features within.

"It is of an individual design, built in 1923 and has been fully refurbished by the present owners. The house is of high quality with a particular feature of the property being the open plan aspect."
