The Olympic Stadium in Helsinki played host to the European Super Cup final between Real Madrid and Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday evening.

The occasion marked the first time the final has been held in Finland. The Super Cup is an annually-held play-off between the winners of European football's two biggest club competitions; the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League.

A crowd of 31,042 - including Finland's Prime Minister Sanna Marin (SDP) - watched on as the Spanish giants claimed their record-equalling fifth Super Cup.

Goals from David Alaba and Karim Benzema secured a 2-0 victory for the reigning Champions League holders.
