Genshin Impact Version 2.8 is the last update from the whole Inazuma arc which means that the Traveler is about to explore a new major region in the upcoming months. Developer HoYoverse has already revealed that update 3.0 will introduce the mysterious land of Sumeru.
Genshin Impact always holds a live stream event before each new update revealing most of the upcoming content. One of the game's most popular leakers, SpendYourPrimos has apparently revealed the release date for the upcoming update 3.0 Livestream event.

The leaker claims that the new event will apparently be held on August 13, however, there is a chance that it arrives one day earlier, but it's highly unlikely considering that the Ghost Festival in China falls on August 12. Fans are understandably hyped about this live stream since it will finally reveal more information about the upcoming Sumeru region which, according to previous map leaks, will apparently be larger than Mondstadt and Liyue combined. One of the most exciting things about Genshin Impact Version 3.0 is probably the introduction of the new Dendro element.
Leaks have already revealed that it could become one of, if not the strongest element in Genshin Impact thanks to its great synergy with almost every other element in the game. Dendro will bring numerous new elemental reactions that could shake up the current character meta. The game's official social media accounts have already confirmed three new characters for the new update, two of which have Dendro Visions. Tighnari is a Dendro bow user and the only new five-star character in the update which means that 3.0 will introduce additional banner re-runs.
Recent leaks have revealed the three Genshin Impact characters that will receive their banner re-runs in the next update: Zhongli, Ganyu and Kokomi. Tighnari and Zhongli will apparently be featured on the first banner while Ganyu and Kokomi are scheduled for the second part of the update. A big part of the community claims that even though Tighnari is the game's first Dendro five-star character, they will probably skip his banner due to recent leaks revealing that he will join the Standard Banner after 3.0 ends.
Another interesting thing about the update is that it will apparently be one week shorter in order for Genshin Impact Version 3.1 to arrive at the game's second anniversary. When it comes to the new four-star characters, Collei is expected to arrive with Tighnari and Zhongli while players will have to wait for the second part of the update to pull for Dori.
Genshin Impact is available now for mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is currently in development with no confirmed release date.
