Everyone remembers the moment when Prince Andrew and his wife Sarah Ferguson divorced in 1996, however it has been revealed that their two daughters Beatrice and Eugenie were 'banished' from seeing their cousins as well.
According to Woman and Home, Tina Brown describes in her Royal Book, The Palace Papers, the sad reasoning why Fergie's girls were 'banished' from hanging out with their two cousins.
According to the author, after a falling out with Sarah, this caused the two princesses to be banned from seeing Prince William and Harry.
The banishment was due to Princess Diana to have allegedly 'fatwa'd' her sister in law, all "for revealing she had developed verrucae after borrowing Diana's shoes."
The royal biographer explains that this is one of the many examples where Princess Diana had developed a habit of "cutting out people," in the boys' lives.
Tina writes that this is a pattern that, sadly, continued, "throughout their childhood" and even included their own cousins Beatrice and Eugenie.
The author adds in her book that despite Princess Diana clearly being devoted to her two boys, "there was a destructive side to Diana's mothering."
Since 1996, the two royal princesses have experienced a roller-coaster of losses and scandals. It is reported that that their relationship with Prince William is 'struggling' due to the allegations against their father, Prince Andrew.
Elsewhere, Princess Eugenie's son, August, made his first public appearance during the Platinum Jubilee. The one-year-old joined his parents on the final day of celebrations as they watched the Jubilee Pageant.
Yesterday (9th August) Eugenie shared a sweet photo of her sister Beatrice to mark her birthday. Posting on Instagram of the two of them, she left a touching caption: "Happy Birthday to my special big sissy. Love you so much."
