Kang's MCU Role Could Mean Inhumans May Still Appear

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has primed itself for massive changes to how the franchise could approach its villains. With Kang the Conqueror close to his big screen debut, it's important to remember that there won't just be one variant of him on screen but many that audiences will meet. As a result, each Kang could make their own decisions that could greatly impact the MCU going forward. But for all the damage he could do alone, there's a hidden possibility that could even involve a huge return from the Inhumans down the line.

In the MCU, the Inhumans have only officially appeared in canon on Earth-838 in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. While King Black Bolt was killed in that film, his presence confirmed that, in multiple realities, there could still be Inhumans. For Earth-616, however, their arrival could still be a long way off. But with a Kang variant altering things, that could change completely. Here's how someone who's a master of time could manage to bring the Inhumans out of the shadows and into the spotlight of the MCU.

The main reason that Kang would even consider the Inhumans as a tool to use for his advantage would be because of Black Bolt's son, Ahura. In the comics, Ahura was the child of Black Bolt and Medusa, who was hidden away and born on Earth, as his birth was not allowed by the Inhuman genetic council. From birth, Ahura's life was difficult, to say the least. He not only had to deal with being imprisoned, but he also had to struggle with the same madness his Uncle Maximus had. But his biggest obstacle came when Kang took him away.

At some point in the timeline, Black Bolt had to evacuate his people from Attilan, which put Ahura right in the clutches of Kang. It would take Black Bolt moving time itself to get his son back, as he wanted to save him from the coming incursions with the Ultimate Universe. However, it would take more time travel manipulation to get Ahura back and defeat Kang. But even though the story of Black Bolt's son could be complicated, certain aspects of this story could be used to create an equally engaging live-action retelling.

In the MCU, a version of the Inhumans could've existed in another reality that Kang had decided to meddle with. In doing so, he could obtain Black Bolt's son, and the Inhuman race could travel the Multiverse, perhaps starting their own incursion in the process, to get him back. As a result, it would place the royal family on a collision course with the heroes of Earth-616. Perhaps as the focal point of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, they could have to work together to save Black Bolt's son from using his powers to control all of reality more easily. Of course, this would end in victory but also lead into Avengers: Secret Wars, which could then conclude with the Inhumans, now without a home, being established in Earth-616 for good.

For now, the future of the Inhumans is still unknown. But Black Bolt's return in some capacity has offered hope for many fans that the royal family could return to impact the MCU in some way. But the best way to do this, without causing too much confusion, would be to tie in the story of their son and his experiences with Kang. This would give the family something to fight for and a reason to ally with the Avengers. However, until then, fans will have to wait to see how the Inhumans could hopefully return to the MCU.
