6 Travel Tips based on your Human Design

There are five Human Design Types and each Type uses their energy differently in their daily lives and when they travel. When you travel as a family, each family member may have different needs and if it sometimes is a struggle, these tips can help you travel in a healthier way that is correct for you and your family. 

Within Human Design, there are Generators, Manifesting Generators, Projectors, Manifestors, and Reflectors. Each type may be motivated by different actions, i.e. a Generator may see a literal sign for gelato in Italy and decide instantly "Yes! I want some gelato!". Essential oils can be a great travel tool for well-being support or for an "in the moment" shift of mood for every Human Design Type. We've included which oils work best for each design during travel. 

How to decide where you go: Generators need to see a sign or respond to something and then say "heck yes" (or "no way!) to it.  It could be as simple as having someone ask, "Do you want to go to Hawaii?"  

How many things to plan: Plan 1-3 things a day and see what you feel like for the rest of the day. If you are traveling with a Manifesting Generator, they may want to happily do more things than you in a day - just pick and choose what you want to join (if you do things you don't want to do, you will get frustrated). 

How to eat: Eat what you desire. Ask yourself "Do I want to go here?" for each restaurant choice and "Do I want to eat this?" for each food choice and you will feel nourished.if you listen to your body. 

Rest/Move: You need to physically move to sleep well. If you are on a tropical relaxation vacation, you may want to take strolls in the morning or evening or go out for a swim.  If you are on an adventure vacation or without a car in a city, you may indirectly get enough physical activity. 

Be aware of: You may get frustrated when traveling. Try to just breathe and let it go. You don't want to show up at yur destination all cranky from being frustrated on your journey.

How to decide where you go: Manifesting Generators need to see a sign or respond to something and then say "heck yes" to it.  It could be as simple as having someone as you, "Do you want to go to Thailand?". A Manifesting Generator should also inform people that may be impacted by their trip.  

How many things to plan: Explore and plan away! You can do many things as part of your unique gift as a Manifesting Generator. Keep in mind that you are designed to try things on and you may not know if you like them until after you try them.  Don't worry if some of your plans are a bust - remember that the experience of trying something new is the adventure.  You may go to many places on one trip or in one day. 

Special Note: If you are traveling with people who are not Manifesting Generators, they may not be able to keep up with you and may need to opt-out of a few of your activities.

As a Manifesting Generator, you may opt for adventure travel to combine your activity with exploring.   

Be aware of: You may get impatient (frustrated & angry) when traveling. Try to just breathe and let it go. Remember, not everyone can do things as quickly as you - including the airport staff. To avoid arriving at your destination cranky and frustrated, learn to be aware that these emotions are not meant to be kept, rather felt and then let go.

How to decide where you go: Projectors will have the best vacation when invited to join. This does not mean a person has to invite you (although that is an option); you could be invited via mail or even through social media.  

How many things to plan: Plan just one thing a day to optimize your energy. You may be able to do more if you choose, but if you have too many plans you may get burned out. You may get more energy for activities when you are invited to do them. Rest in the middle of the day if you can - if you can't go back to your hotel, lay down vertically somewhere.in a park, on a bench, on the beach. Maybe your planned activity is resting! ? If you have a more active vacation, make sure to give yourself space in your schedule to rest when you return home.

How to eat: Eat small meals or snacks throughout the day. You digest food and people's energy (from interactions) in small amounts at a time. Eat when you are hungry. You may not sit down to meals the same way a Generator does.  

Rest/Move: You need to rest and discharge other people's energy. Think about all the energy that you are with during an airplane flight or bus ride. It's a good idea to schedule in rest periods during your trip after times you are with other people - even just one other person.  You may also want to plan rest for a few days after you return from your trip.  Before you go to sleep, lay down 30 minutes to discharge. 

Be aware of: You may not be able to keep up with people you travel with - and that's OK! You can ride on their energy and do fun things, but make sure to rest. Getting outside can help discharge energy as well, especially if you are staying in a hotel room with your whole family.

How to decide where you go: Follow whatever inspiration for travel that comes from within you. You are the only type that can have a thought and just do it.  

How many things to plan: You can do whatever you are inspired to do. You may like to experiment in the moment and not plan much. You may plan a lot and then rest when you get home from your trip. You can ride on other's energy while you are traveling and you may sleep a lot at night.

How to eat: Eat small meals or snacks throughout the day. You digest food and people's energy (from interactions) in small amounts at a time. Eat when you are hungry. You may not sit down to meals the same way a Generator does.

You can ride on their energy and do fun things, but make sure to rest. Getting outside can help discharge energy as well, especially if you are staying in a hotel room with your whole family.

How to decide where you go: You can go on any trip you want if you give yourself one moon cycle (29 days) to decide. Talk about it with trusted friends/family during the 29 days. It is also important to go on trips with the right people because you reflect your community so if you go with people that are stressed out a lot, you may be stressed out as well. 

How many things to plan: Likely planning just one thing a day is best for your energy.  You may be able to do more if you choose, but if you have more planned, you may get burned out.
