The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has rejected a request by the National Coalition Party (NCP) to re-evaluate suspicions of inappropriate behaviour by MP Wille Rydman.

The party made the request after Helsingin Sanomat published an article in June containing claims by several women that Rydman used his political position to gain access to young women and girls.

The NBI had looked into the reports about Rydman in 2020, but subsequently closed the preliminary probe after a few days. None of the events described by the nine women interviewed by the NBI crossed the threshold warranting further investigation, the office said.

In response to the NCP request, the NBI said that no new information has come to light that would require a review of the original decision.
