South West Finland District Court in Turku ordered a 15-year-old boy suspected of attempted murder to remand custody on Friday.

Police suspect the teen inflicted severe violence on a 17-year-old male along the Aurajoki river in central Turku late on Monday night.

The location of the altercation allegedly took place near the Teatterisilta bridge, by the Turku City Theatre. Authorities said they were familiar with the suspect before the incident on Monday night.

The district court ordered a 22-year-old man to remand custody in separate case of suspected attempted murder that took place last Friday in the river's Aurajokiranta area.

Police apprehended that suspect earlier this week.

However, authorities noted that the two violent incidents were not related.
