Green Bay Packers president Mark Murphy stands on the field before the game against the Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium.

In his monthly Q&A with Packers fans, team president and CEO Mark Murphy addressed his future with the organization. He will retire in three seasons after he turns 70. Team board members in Green Bay are required to step down after they turn 70. They are put under emeritus status at that age.

"The organization's executive committee has started to make plans for the process and timeline to find my successor," Murphy told fans of the franchise earlier this month.

Murphy has held the role of President and CEO for 14 years and will retire after 17 years. It is safe to say that it will have been a very successful 17-year stint in Green Bay.

Murphy broke into the NFL way back in 1977 as a safety for Washington. He played eight years in the league (all with Washington). He became a Super Bowl champion (XVII) and an All-Pro performer after leading the league in interceptions in 1983. After holding the position of Athletic Director at his alma mater of Colgate (1992-2003) and then at Northwestern (2003-2007), he was named the president and CEO of the Packers in 2007. Under his leadership, the Packers have won nine division crowns, appeared in six NFC Championship Games and earned one Super bowl ring.

Of course, Murphy plans on earning multiple Super Bowl rings before his time in Green Bay ends on July 13, 2025.

"It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as the Packers President. I plan on making the last three three years as successful as possible, with multiple Super Bowl championships," Murphy exclaimed to Packers nation.

With quarterback Aaron Rodgers back in the fold for the foreseeable future, it is likely that the Packers are set up for success down the line with Murphy leading the charge.
