Alana 'Honey Boo Boo' Thompson and Lauryn 'Pumpkin' Efird spoke about their feelings regarding their mother 'Mama' June Shannon's recent surprise wedding during an interview with E! News.
The reality stars respectively, shared that they were not informed that the ceremony was set to take place and discussed the changes in the 42-year-old's life.
Alana, 16, and Pumpkin, 22, announced that June had married her boyfriend of less than a year, Justin Stroud, this past May, two months after the ceremony occurred.
Efird began by noting that Shannon did not tell either of her daughters that she had tied the knot with her now-husband.
She recalled: 'We didn't know about it. I actually got a receipt in my PO Box that said she had applied for a marriage certificate. Then I asked her about it just recently. She denied it.'
The reality television personality then remarked that her mother later confirmed that she was a married woman, much to the surprise of her children.
'And then eventually she was like, "Oh, I got married" and we were very, very shocked,' she said.
Thompson went on to speak about the changes in Shannon's personality that had occurred over the past few years.
'It definitely did catch me by surprise because Mama was always one to say she would never get married. But I mean, my mom now, she's definitely different,' she stated.
Efird then expressed that she and her sister had come to terms with their exclusion in the wedding ceremony.
'If she feels like we don't need to be a part of that, then it is what it is,' she said.
It was pointed out that the pair had met Stroud, although they didn't share their opinions on him.
In addition to Efird and Thompson, Shannon also has a pair of daughters named Anna, 27, and Jessica, 25.
The reality television personality and Stroud dated for a total of five months before they tied the knot in March.
The reality star was previously in a long-term relationship with Alana's father, Mike 'Sugar Bear' Thompson, although the two had a high-profile split in 2014.
Shannon went on to date Geno Doak, and the two made headlines for their much-publicized drug issues.
The pair later split up and June was sentenced to 100 hours of community service.
