A majority of people in Finland approve of the current government's foreign and security policies, according to the results of a survey carried out by the municipal development foundation (KAKS).

Some 63 percent of respondents said the government's policies on foreign, security and defence issues were "very good" or "fairly good".

In response to a question about the handling of the Covid pandemic, 58 percent rated the government's performance as very or fairly good.

Respondents to the survey were not however as satisfied with the state of the Finnish economy, or the running of social and healthcare services. In response to questions on both topics, 42 percent gave the government a "bad" or "very bad" rating.

The survey was conducted by Kantar TNS, and polled the opinions of just over 1,000 people living in Finland during the early weeks of June, with a margin of error of just under 3 percent in either direction.
