Just two weeks after its opening night, Idina Menzel's Wild: A Musical is ending its run early, due to breakthrough COVID-19 cases.

The show had its opening night at the American Repertory Theater in Boston on December 9, though the show announced this week the run is officially over.

The production was slated to run through January 2, 2022 at the theater, but now the show is coming to an end early.

The A.R.T. also announced that programming at the OBERON and 2 Arrow Street Space have also been cancelled due to the new COVID cases.

The new 'musical fable' follows a single mother (Idina Menzel) struggling to hold on to her family farm and connect with her teenage daughter (played by YDE).

Her daughter's determination to save the planet endows her and her friends with powers they never knew they had.

The cast also includes Brittany Campbell, Deborah S. Craig, Josh Lamon, Kingsley Leggs and Michael Williams.

The cast was also joined nightly by the Boston Children's Chorus for each performance.

'Inspired by the show's theme of caring for the planet, this concert production embraces regenerative practice and invites audiences to use their imagination to set the scene,' read a description of the musical.

The musical was written by V (formerly Eve Ensler) and musicians Justin Tranter and Caroline Pennell.

Diane Paulus directed the production, with choreography from Chanel DaSilva.

While Menzel is best known for voicing Elsa in the Disney animated hit Frozen, she's started her career on the stage.

Menzel made her Broadway debut in the iconic rock musical Rent in 1996, earning her first Tony Award for her portrayal of Maureen Johnson.

She won her second Tony Award for her portrayal of Elphaba in Wicked, which debuted in 2003 and is currently the fifth longest-running Broadway musical of all time.

The actress recently starred as Vivian in the new Cinderella adaptation and she'll return as Nancy Tremaine in Disney's Disenchanted, a sequel to the 2007 film Enchanted.
