With a field goal in the final seconds of the matchup, the Titans stole a 20-17 victory against the 49ers.
Bullock made a 48-yard attempt with nine seconds remaining and sealed the victory from Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee. The win allows the Titans to advance to 10-5 and potentially clinch the AFC South, as long as the Colts lose their next matchup to the Cardinals on Christmas Day.
Despite completing 22 passes for 209 yards with a touchdown, Ryan Tannehill rushed for another 22 yards and gave Tennessee a critical first down. He escaped from the pocket with just over a minute remaining and helped put the Titans in field goal position at the San Francisco 31. Tannehill also connected with leading receiver A.J. Brown, who recorded 145 receiving yards and a touchdown during his first game back from injury.
Jimmy Garoppolo also threw two interceptions that allowed the Titans to capitalize. He threw his first red zone pick of the season during the first quarter, then threw another in the third quarter and unwillingly gave the Titans some momentum. Running back D'Onta Foreman scored the team's only rushing touchdown and tied it up at 10.
Although the 49ers' defense sacked Tannehill four times, they allowed 90 rushing yards and let the Titans convert on nine third downs. Defensive end Samson Ebukam led San Francisco with 1.5 sacks while Jordan Willis had one.
If the Cardinals secure a victory on Saturday, the Titans will clinch the AFC South. They are scheduled to face the Dolphins for their next matchup. On the other hand, the 49ers will look to keep their playoff hopes alive as they take on the Texans from Santa Clara, California on Jan. 2.
