How do cars end up being entombed in garages or hidden away in barns or sheds? We imagine there are a host of reasons, but we would bet one of the most common is that the car broke down or was otherwise damaged, the owner didn't have the time, cash, or passion to fix it, and it was locked away to be repaired "eventually." But, like that song from the musical Annie goes, repair is always a day away, and such is certainly the case with this 1970 Mustang fastback-or as Ford called it, a Sportsroof.
Only a handful of 1970 Mustang fastbacks were built with the 351 Windsor V-8 and a shaker hood, so this is a pretty cool find. The owner doesn't have a Marti report on the car, but some research showed that only a few hundred examples were equipped this way.

In 1983, this Mustang was in a small accident and was unceremoniously pushed into the garage to await repairs. Well, there it has languished, damage and all, for decades. The owner even bought a new fender but hasn't gotten around to mounting it yet. Maybe tomorrow?
Since this 1970 Mustang has a 351 Windsor mill under the hood, it must be a very early 1970 example; 1970 saw the Mustang switch to the 351 Cleveland V-8 with either a 2V carburetor (like this one) or 4V carburetor. The 1970 Mustang was restyled from the 1969 model due to low sales, but the newer version sold even less. Still, we really like the look of these cars, and really hope the owner gets this one back on the road or passes it on to a new owner who will save it from its urban tomb.
