Finland's national rail carrier VR has announced that passengers will be asked to show a Covid pass in order to be served in the restaurant carriages of trains.

The new measure come into effect on Sunday, 28 November.

The company said on Friday that the practice was being introduced on rail services in line with updated guidelines from authorities and because of the deteriorating coronavirus situation in Finland.

This means that all train passengers over the age of 16 will be asked to show the pass at the checkout of the restaurant carriage.

The company's statement added that people that do not have a Covid pass can still travel on VR services.
