A new study from Money.co.uk has revealed the top 10 eco-friendly features that buyers look out for when shopping for a new home. If you're looking to sell anytime soon, you might want to take note.
The survey, which asked 2,000 potential homebuyers to reveal how much extra money they think different eco-improvements add to the value of a property, found that eco-friendly (low VOC) paint could add thousands to your property price.
The report compared how much environmentally-friendly home improvements actually cost vs. how much perceived value homebuyers believe the same improvements add to a property, and found that low VOC paint - like Farrow & Ball - is among one of the easiest and most profitable improvements.
Costing an average of just £96 to 'install', buyers can see an increase of £2,636 added to their property sale price when using F&B to give their home a bit of a facelift.
The paint choice ranked number five on the list of eco-friendly upgrades that could see potential buyers willing to pay an extra £29,090. Number one is draft proofing, with a £200 average installation cost, but adding up to £3,208 to the value of a house.
