Speculation continues to swirl around Brednan Rodgers and Manchester United.

Reports have claimed that Rodgers is United's top target in the event that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is sacked.

Solskjaer is under intense pressure after a run of results that date back to September 19 when United won at West Ham United.

Since that match, the Red Devils have won only once in the Premier League and had to be saved by Cristiano Ronaldo twice in the Champions League.

Leicester City boss Rodgers is the favourite in the betting to become United's next manager and a move for the former Liverpool manager would be realistic.

Rodgers took Liverpool to within an inch of the Premier League title in 2014 and has taken City to the brink of the Champions League in his two full seasons at the King Power Stadium so far.

If Rodgers moves to United, he could make use of the talent that he has helped to develop at City and try to sign some of the club's players at Old Trafford.

Here are four players he could target...

Ndidi has been one of the Premier League's top midfielders in recent seasons and United fans have been longing for their side to make a move for the Nigeria international.

The 2017 signing from Belgian side Genk has been heavily tipped to leave the King Power Stadium with Arsenal also credited with an interest in the player.

Described as a 'very, very important player' for City by Rodgers, he could be the midfield signing that United supporters have been crying out for.

Ndidi would be a costly signing, though, given he is under contract for another three years.

Fofana's impressive performances last season prompted speculation that he could be on the move with Liverpool linked with the player.

He's been out since pre-season having suffered a serious leg injury after a horror tackle in a match against Villarreal but he is on the comeback trail.

Fofana, still only 20, is a real talent and would immediately upgrade United's centre-back ranks.

Having only signed from Saint-Etienne last year, his contract at City runs until 2025.

Tielemans is another who has blossomed under Rodgers' tutelage.

The Belgian international is out of contract in June 2023 and Rodgers said last month that City were waiting to hear back from the player's agents about their offer to extend his current deal.

City's reigning player of the season has Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Liverpool and - according to reports - United on his tail after a fine 2020-21 season.

Tielemans, 25 in May, is blossoming into a fine Premier League talent.

If United are looking to add competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka - who has been below par this season - they could do worse than Ricardo Pereira.

Ricardo, back from a serious knee injury, was City's player of the season in 2018-19 and has proven himself as a more-than-capable option at right-back.

Ricardo is an attacking full-back who scored twice and registered seven assists in his first campaign at City.

He could be a realistic signing for Rodgers if he does move to City.
