In this week's show, APN unboxes the acquisition of Finnish delivery firm Wolt by American rival DoorDash in an all-stock deal reported to be worth about 7 billion euros.

While the deal has been widely welcomed in Finland, it may have also distracted attention from the ongoing debate about Wolt's classification of couriers as contractors, not salaried employees.

"I would say that after a few hours [following Wolt's announcement] that started to become the question, that are the partners or are the couriers getting any of this deal? Are they just being exploited, what is happening there," Yle journalist Heikki Valkama told APN about the reaction to the deal.

Thou shalt not pass

APN also spoke to Kyle Ott, who recently relocated from the United States with his Finnish wife.

They were both double-jabbed in the US before moving to Finland, but they have had trouble getting their fully vaccinated status recognised in Finland.

"We just got the runaround from everyone, and all of the news and press from the ministry was: We will have an update at the end of October. And October came and went, no update. You got the sense from talking to a lot of people that this is not a priority," Ott told APN.
