Drake appeared as a surprise performer during Travis Scott's Astroworld Festival set on Friday night at Houston's NRG Park, where eight people died and multiple more people were injured among the 50,000 in attendance.
While Scott issued an official apology followed by an Instagram video on Saturday, Drake remained silent until late Monday night:

Earlier Monday, Billboard relayed "at least 14 lawsuits" have been filed while "many more lawsuits are likely on the way." Scott also pledged to cover funeral costs for the deceased and provide full refunds for everybody who went to the show. An investigation is underway.
Tragedy struck when a "crowd surge" was initiated by Scott's set beginning, as fans stampeded in an effort to get closer to the stage and subsequently trampled people or made it extremely difficult to breathe. The full timeline of events can be found here.
