This is definitely one the strangest Airbnb's we've seen.

A young woman shared on TikTok her surprise at finding an abandoned mall underneath where she was staying.

Claire Scheulin posted videos to the video app where she described that the abandoned mall was "a little creepy" and captioned the video, "POV: your airbnb has an abandoned mall in the basement."

You can watch the full video here.

The TikToker also edited eerie music into the clips which made the video even scarier. In the footage, she gives viewers a brief tour of an empty promenade area of the mall and a long corridor

With people asking for more details about the abandoned mall, Scheulin clarified in another video she and her friend were fine and provided further details about the place.

The Airbnb was part of a building above the mall but she wouldn't be giving out the exact link until after she and her friend had left.

However, the mall doesn't look abandoned in another video where there was one café that remained open, it appeared to be in the middle of the mall that still had some people visiting it.

Although Ms Scheulin didn't the exact location while she's still staying there, some users eagle-eyed viewers figured out the mall was likely in Florida.

It's believed the mall was located in a building and had a series of apartments and rooms above it that were still active.

The video has since had over 7 million views, with 1.3 million likes and tens of thousands of comments from people.

A popular comment people were making was the similarity between the footage Scheulin posted and an urban legend/scary story known as 'The Backrooms'.

The story is about an office worker being transported to an empty, inescapable maze of offices that exists slightly outside of reality.

Other comments ranged from joking about the creepy discovery to providing further information about the building.

One person joked: "Finna be some hella lit game of tag,"

"I JUST READ UP ON THIS PLACE AND IT USED TO BE AN OLD WWII HOSPITAL BEFORE IT WAS A MALL. A lot of spirits," another person wrote.

Someone else said: "What in the shining is that hall."

"Your just in stranger things season 3 it's ok," a fourth person said.

Well, it doesn't seem like Scheulin has been transported to an alternate reality, as she's still uploading videos to TikTok.
