Rose Byrne has sent her fans into a frenzy by calling her long-time partner Bobby Cannavale her husband, sparking speculation the pair have secretly wed.

The actress made the statement in a recent interview with Shape magazine.

The 41-year-ol revealed how the couple recently spent their mandatory 14-day quarantine in Sydney, after arriving Down Under from the US for movie projects.

Rose said: 'I got into being an artisanal cocktail waitress, but I'm really slow at it. My husband will be like, I've been waiting for 25 mins.'

The Two Hands star often refers to Bobby as her husband, but the pair have never in fact married.

However, they may secretly be engaged as Rose has been sporting a diamond ring on her left hand wedding finger for years.

She was first pictured wearing the ring in 2016 while in Australia, but she has never publicly confirmed she is engaged.

The Hollywood actress began dating American actor Bobby, 51, in 2012.

In 2017, she told ES magazine that she often refers to him as 'my husband'.

'He's practically my husband, so calling him that is easier,' she said.

'The formality isn't a draw for me, but we'll do it one day. Once you have children, I just think, 'why not?''

Rose and Bobby, who have worked together onscreen in Annie, Spy and Adult Beginners, share two sons, Rocco, five, and Rafa, three.

Bobby was previously married to American actress Jenny Lumet and they share an adult son Jake.

Rose, who hails from Balmain in New South Wales, began acting at age 13 before making it big in Hollywood.

In 2014, she starred in the blockbuster movie Neighbours, with Seth Rogen and Zac Efron and was announced as the face of Oroton - which went into voluntary administration last year.

She also appeared alongside Oprah Winfrey in the 2017 TV film The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks.
