© Provided by Washington Examiner MSNBC host Rachel Maddow responded to new relaxed CDC coronavirus guidelines by saying she needs to "rewire" herself in order not to view non-mask-wearing people as a "threat."
"I feel like I'm going to have to rewire myself so that when I see someone out in the world who's not wearing a mask, I don't instantly think, 'You are a threat,'" Maddow said on her prime-time show Thursday night. "Or you are selfish or you are a COVID denier and you definitely haven't been vaccinated. I mean, we're going to have to rewire the way that we look at each other."

Earlier that day, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced that vaccinated people no longer need to wear masks in almost all circumstances, which was met with positive reactions from some and fear and uncertainty from others.
"As great as this announcement is today, we don't want to let up," President Joe Biden said Thursday. "The safest thing for the country is for everyone to get vaccinated."

The president added on Twitter, "Folks, if you're fully vaccinated - you no longer need to wear a mask. If you're not vaccinated yet - go to https://vaccines.gov to find a shot, and mask up until you're fully vaccinated."
