The race has attracted runners from some of the nation's top trainers, including Bob Baffert, Brad Cox and Chad Brown. The Baffert-trained Beautiful Gift is the 9-5 morning-line favorite in the 2021 Black-Eyed Susan Stakes odds. The Cox-trained Adventuring is the 4-1 second choice in the 2021 Black-Eyed Susan field, while the Brown-trained The Grass Is Blue is 6-1. Post time for the 1 1/8-mile race is 5:44 p.m. ET. Kinchen is one of the nation's most successful and recognizable horseplayers. One shocker: Kinchen is completely fading Beautiful Gift, even though she is the favorite on the morning line at 9-5. A daughter of Medaglia d'Oro, Beautiful Gift has two wins, one second and one third in four career starts. She is coming off a second place finish in the Santa Anita Oaks.
Prior to that, she won the Santa Ysabel Stakes, but Kinchen is not a fan of the West Coast races for three-year-old fillies. "I don't think the California prep races were as good as the others," Kinchen told SportsLine. He will not have Beautiful Gift on any of his tickets.
