Almost everything that could be said about the 2021 Honda Ridgeline has been said, but after a week behind the wheel we were curious: Just how useful is that so-called in-bed trunk? What do 7.3 cubic feet of space look like, in real life? Could you use this truck with a young family without just tossing everything you carry with you into the open bed?

Curiosity got the best of us, and the only way to find out what would (and would not) fit in the lockable storage compartment was to drag various items out of the garage and see for ourselves. After testing 16 items (and becoming very thankful for the truck's swing-out tailgate that made loading and unloading so much easier), we sought shelter, water, and relaxation.
