Women are going wild for a 'life-changing' electronic hairbrush from Kmart that can be used to create salon style waves at home.

The 'Rotating Hot Air Brush' from the discount store's own brand Anko has a 40mm and 50mm barrel and three heated settings - two hot, one cool - which achieve practically the same effect as a professional blow-dry.

Australians have been rushing to buy the brush ever since Sydney hairstylist Janet Nguyen filmed herself using it in an Instagram video on Tuesday.

Ms Nguyen told Daily Mail Australia it's 'a great hair tool' for such an affordable price.

'I have never in my life got myself such a cheap hair tool but it honestly gave me such amazing results!' Ms Nguyen said.

Similar heated hairbrushes on the market in Australia cost anywhere from $149 to $799 (AUD).

Kmart's bargain brush boasts dozens of five star reviews on Kmart's website, with many hailing it 'unbeatable'.

'Life changer! I'm not very good at blow drying my long hair and usually give up halfway through,' one woman wrote.

'This $25 appliance is absolutely amazing. Makes the job easy and looks like your hair has been done at a salon.'

A second said she was skeptical about buying the brush due to some negative reviews, but found it to be 'amazing'.

'This product is amazing. Yes the handle is big but honestly what do you expect from a tool where the blow dryer is built into the handle. It does what it is intended to do. Great purchase,' she wrote.

A third said she was 'very happy' with the tool which is sold at an 'unbeatable price'.

However others warned the brush is not suitable for those with thick or coarse hair.

'The drying aspect of this brush is good, but the styling part is useless if you have thick air texture,' one woman wrote.
