Jenni Falconer has reflected on a frightening car accident her daughter Ella was involved in a few years ago and has shared a throwback snap of her in a hospital bed.

The This Morning star took the opportunity on International Nurses Day, to thank the nurses and NHS staff for looking after Ella.

The 45 year old shared a sweet picture of nine year old Ella sat on her hospital bed, alongside several nurses who were caring for her.

She penned: "On #InternationalNursesDay, I want to just take a moment to not only acknowledge the incredible work that our nurses have been doing the last year but also thank them for their help during a challenging time in our family.

"There are many people on the frontline who have worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic but there's no denying our nurses have been absolute heroes.

"We have all been in and out of lockdown but the work never eased up for them, it's been relentless, it's been tough and yet without their continuous hard work it would have been impossible."

The television personality went on to give her followers some context behind the picture and continued to praise the nurses.

She added: "Also this photo is from a few years when Ella ended up in hospital after a frightening car accident.

"The nurses were incredible looking after her brilliantly, supported us as worried parents but more than anything made Ella and the other children on the ward feel special even in such unfortunate circumstances."

Jenni concluded her post by writing: "So here's to our brilliant nurses and NHS. Thank you so much."

The former National Lottery Draws host received plenty of messages from her fans who commented on the snap.

One follower said: "Well said Jenni, I have been in hospital myself on a number of occasions. The nurses were brilliant so caring as well x."

Another Instagram user commented: "They do an amazing job and quite often get no thanks for it."

A third added: "Well said Jenni. Our NHS and all our emergency services deserve a huge pay rise not the pittance they have been given they deserve our total respect."

While a fourth expressed: "Such lovely words Jenni our nurses have been wonderful during this time and all medical staff."

Jenni is married to husband James Midgley and the pair tied the knot at Babington House in June 2010.

The couple welcomed first and only child, daughter Ella in September 2011.
