Basketball Wives star Liza Morales and retired NBA star Lamar Odom were never the same after the tragic death of their six-month-old son Jayden in 2006.
When the high school sweethearts' baby boy passed away from sudden infant death syndrome in his crib, it triggered her depression and his drug addiction.
'The trauma never goes away. You constantly have to work on yourself when it comes to loss and depression,' the 42-year-old native New Yorker told People on Tuesday.

'It's all connected. I lost myself in trying to co-parent with an addict, trying to guide my kids through the trauma of losing their sibling, of dealing with a father who's an addict and the constant headlines.'
By 2009, Liza began treating her depression and anxiety with therapy, meditation, and CBD after overcoming the stigma of mental health issues.
Morales tries to pass down her wisdom to 22-year-old daughter Destiny and 19-year-old son Lamar Jr. from their on/off decade-long relationship, which ended in 2006.

'I wish Lamar the best, but I can no longer force somebody to work on themselves,' Liza - who's penning a memoir - explained.
'I went into my cave for a while after Lamar overdosed in 2015, and then I told myself, "You know what? You're going to go out there and share what you've been through, because a lot of people can relate." Talking about mental health helps other people while helping myself.'
