A man will be placed in mandatory quarantine after jumping from an international oil tanker in waters off Melbourne's coast.
Victoria Water Police rescued the Georgian national on Sunday night, after he allegedly climbed down a rope, into the water from a tanker docked in Port Phillip Bay.
The 31-year-old was in the water, clinging to a navigational marker for an estimated 20 hours before Airwing spotted him five kilometres from the dock, according to 3AW.
