Over the many years he's been on This Morning, Phillip Schofield has developed plenty of great friendships with his female co-hosts.

This couldn't be more prevalent on Monday, as the presenter, who admitted he's full of anxiety as lockdown eases, enjoyed a lunch date with three of his co-stars.

The 59 year old took to his Instagram stories to share a sweet selfie, along with a large red heart emoji.

Joining him for lunch were best pal Holly Willoughby, who brought along her husband Daniel Baldwin.

Christine and Frank Lampard took a break from baby duties to join their pals for a reunion of sorts.

In the snap, the couples and Phillip were joined by Rochelle Humes, who stood in the middle and smiled for the camera.

Earlier in the day, the dad-of-two gave an insight into the gathering as he shared a photo of plenty of booze.

He wrote over it: "When you know that THIS was the moment you should have stopped! #lunch #friends."

The outing comes after Phillip accidentally broke social distancing guidelines by sitting too close to Holly on This Morning.

The pair were discussing Boris Johnson's announcement, which many believed would be about hugging.

The pals were sitting on their signature blue couch as Phil said: "There is expected be an announcement that hugging will be allowed from next Monday."

He then turned to 40 year old Holly as she gave a hand gesture to move away from her.

"We're also closer than we're meant to be, hold on a second," he quickly said as he jumped back on the couch.

Holly, who was left in fits of giggles at a woman who breaks wind online for money, said: "Back off down that end, I'm where I should be," as Phillip replied: "Yeah, no I'm not."

He then sighed before adding: "I'm sick of all the lists," as Holly attempted to comfort him by saying: "Nearly, nearly, nearly."
