Since retiring from football, Jamie Carragher has grown to become one of the most sought-after pundits in media.

The 43-year-old is a regular on Sky Sports and has even started his own podcast, The Greatest Game.

It was on this podcast yesterday that he sat down with Wolves captain and former Liverpool youngster Conor Coady.

The pair spent over an hour chatting about Coady's career and his greatest game and ultimate 5-a-side team.

However, during the discussion, Carragher found time to drop in a slight hint over a player that the Reds have been linked to.

The former Liverpool defender questioned Coady over Portuguese forward Pedro Neto, asking if he'd told Neto how good Liverpool is.

The Portuguese forward has previously been linked with a move to the club over the last few seasons.

Sadly for Carragher, he probably didn't get the response he was quite hoping for.

Coady was quick to dismiss his pleas, stating that Neto was going nowhere from Wolves.

The captain also went on to explain just how good Neto is, highlighting how himself and his teammates forget how young Neto is.

""We were talking the other day and we were on about how he's born in 2000 and we were putting him in the same category as Phil Foden. You look at how well he's doing and then you look at the numbers Pedro is bringing up as well, and the assists and the goals and how he's affecting games for Wolves. He's an incredible player, absolutely incredible.""

Neto has impressed immensely since joining Wolves from Lazio in 2019.

He may only have 10 goals and 10 assists for Wolves in all competitions but his general play is a delight to watch.

With a market value of £31.5m according to Transfermarkt, Neto wouldn't come cheap for the Reds.

As Coady states though, Neto isn't going anywhere and it wouldn't be wrong to believe him.

He is clearly a prized asset for Wolves and after Liverpool's poach of Diogo Jota - they likely won't make the same mistake again.
