Kourtney Kardashian has finally addressed - and denied - rumours that she was the driving force behind the end of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

In the most recent episode of the show, which aired on E! on Thursday night, the family were seen discussing the decision to cancel the show after 20 years, a decision they announced in September last year.

In the scenes, she spoke to her mum Kris Jenner and sister Khloe, where she admitted she had a 'love-hate relationship' with the show, which she defiantly insisted would not have ended without a group decision being made.

Kourtney confirmed to devastated fans in November 2019 that she was stepping back from the wildly successful reality show, which debuted in October 2007, and chronicles the life and times of the TV dynasty.

In her statement at the time, the mum-of-three wrote: 'I just decided to spend more time as a mum and put more of my energy there...

'But I'm not saying goodbye. But I think you'll have to see more of it on the new season, season 18. It isn't airing yet, but it's being filmed. Currently, in this room.'

She has however returned for the final season, and in the latest episode saw her ex Scott Disick about online claims that the cancellation was her doing.

She said: 'It's so funny, there's all these memes online of like, 'Kourtney Kardashian single-handedly ended KUWTK'. Yeah they're saying it as a joke but I'm sure there's people who really believe it.'

After Scott came to her defense, Kourtney insisted: 'Every time our contract's up we always have this conversation of like, 'Do we want to keep doing this? What are we happy with? What do we want to do?'

'If everyone wanted to keep doing it, I'm sure I would have kept doing it too. It was going to come to an end at some point.'

When speaking to her family about what to do, Kris asked if they should end the show, to which Kourtney said: 'I definitely think it's time.'

Khloe then said: 'Kourtney thought it was time three years ago.'

On her struggle with the show, Kourtney went on: 'We always said we would do it together as long as we all wanted to do it and felt happy and that it made sense...

'I've definitely had my moments when I wasn't fully comfortable with filming and then there's so many exciting moments like where we've had the best times and great family trips and so many experiences that we wouldn't have had if we weren't filming. I think it's been a love-hate relationship.'

Khloe went on: 'Do I think we all need a break sometimes? Yeah. But I don't know if that necessarily means to stop.'

Later on, the youngest Kardashian sister then said: 'It's definitely clear that everyone's decisions have been made but mine is the only one that would be against the rest of the family.'
