Prince William has been spotted looking in good spirits during a royal engagement at Brighter Futures in Rhyl on Thursday 6 May.

The 39 year old attended the event at Denbighshire to speak to eight local groups that collectively support local children, young people, families and the older generations.

The Duke of Cambridge dressed formal for the occasion as he donned a green jumper over a crisp blue shirt.

He teamed the outfit with a pair of dark trousers and a matching blazer alongside some dark brown boots.

Clearly enjoying his visit, Prince William could be seen holding a pink mermaid-themed watering can as he spoke to locals with a giant smile across his face.

Prince William, who recently wished his nephew Archie a happy birthday, also planted an apple tree while at the community centre.

William went on to meet with members of the Rhyl Men's Shed, who help bring the community together by encouraging them to participate in activities.

During the pandemic Brighter Futures supported those who were isolated by delivering food, PPE, sports and IT equipment.

They also delivered craft materials and games to help people alleviate the negative effects of the lockdowns.

Caretaker of the organisation Stephen Johnson said it was a shock when they found out the Duke would be visiting.

"You don't believe it's going to happen to you - we've been picked and it's a good thing.

"He seemed interested in the community, he wanted to see what's going on during the pandemic, what's happened with the community."

While Prince William has been spending the day with volunteers, his 39 year old wife Kate Middleton has been busy promoting the launch of her new photo book Hold Still.

The brunette beauty, who is a Royal patron of the National Portrait Gallery, took to the official Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Instagram account to post a short clip of book which features a collection of 100 photographs depicting the UK during the coronavirus lockdown.

The snaps were taken during a six-week period during May and June and focused on three main themes - Helpers and Heroes, Your New Normal and Acts of Kindness.

Launching on 7 May, 39 year old Kate decided to give fans a glimpse into its contents, with photos showing NHS nurses in full blue scrubs, Captain Sir Tom Moore, rainbows drawn on pavements thanking the NHS, people hugging and more.
