Pink has revealed that thought she would die and rewrote her will during her 'terrifying' battle with coronavirus last year.

The American pop star, 41, whose real name is Alecia Beth Moore, contracted the virus alongside her four-year-old son Jameson in March 2020.

Now in a new interview, she has admitted just how seriously ill she was with Covid-19 saying she 'thought it was over'.

Speaking on Heart radio with Mark Wright on Monday, the singer said: 'This is going to sound crazy, but we had COVID last year, very early in March and it was really really bad and I rewrote my will.

'Jameson and I were really sick, and Carey and Willow [her husband and nine-year-old daughter] weren't, so you know at the point where I thought it was over for us, I called my best friend and I said I just need you tell Willow how much I loved her.'

The mother-of-two went on to detail how her near-death experience inspired her new song, All I Know So Far, written from the perspective of a parent speaking to their child for the last time.

She said: 'It was really really scary, and really bad and as a parent you think about what am I leaving for my kid? What am I teaching them? Are they going to make it in this world?

'This crazy world that we live in now and what do I need to tell them if this is the last time I ever get to tell them anything? So that was kind of the song.'

The three-time Grammy winner will release her new single All I Know So Far on May 7, followed by an album and documentary of the same name on May 21.

Last year she penned an essay published by NBC News, where she opened up about her and Jamson's 'physically and emotionally challenging' battle with the disease.

Pink wrote: 'Battling COVID-19 along with my three-year-old son was the most physically and emotionally challenging experience I have gone through as a mother.

'Weeks after receiving our test results, my son was still ill and feverish. It was a terrifying time, not knowing what might come next.'

Pink shares son Jameson and daughter Willow, with husband Carey Hart, 45, whom she married in 2006.
