- Hennessey Performance unveiled the appropriately named Ram TRX Mammoth 1000 SUV.
- It's a new SUV priced at $375,000 and sporting a claimed 1,012-hp V8.
- Hennessey says it can hit 60 mph in 3.2 seconds.
John Hennessey and his firm, Hennessey Performance, are at it again with a new model for 2021, a wild SUV called the Ram TRX Mammoth 1000 SUV. Mammoth indeed: Hennessey claims the truck's 6.2-liter supercharged V8 cranks out 1,012 hp and 969 lb-ft of torque. He says that's good enough for a 0-60 mph run in 3.2 seconds. If Hennessey's claimed horsepower is accurate, the Mammoth would be the highest-horsepower SUV on the market. The company also says the new SUV can seat seven adults in comfort and is also, according to Hennessey,"guaranteed to be exclusive with just 20 models being produced."
The Mammoth 1000 is based on the new Ram TRX. Hennessey extends the roofline to meet a new C-pillar that sits above the taillights. The conversion incorporates a sizable rear-side window and adds a rear screen while"retaining excellent luggage space behind the third row of seats," according to the company.

The SUV also has Hennessey's Mammoth Off Road package, including a 2.5-inch lift, custom front bumper with LED lights, 20-inch Hennessey 10-spoke wheels, 35-inch off-road tires, and a front suspension leveling kit.
"I have a big family with five kids and have always enjoyed owning big, powerful SUVs," said company founder John Hennessey."In 2012 we converted the first-generation Ford Raptor into our VelociRaptor SUV-I still own one today and love it. Now, we are excited to offer something very similar, but with a lot more horsepower, using the new Ram TRX truck as our base vehicle. Creating this king of SUVs offers our customers the ultimate combination of space, power, and exclusivity."
The company says the Mammoth 1000 has a full three-year, 36,000-mile warranty.
