Harry Wilson says he is concentrating on finishing the season strongly with Cardiff City and this summer's European Championships with Wales before addressing his Liverpool future.

The Welshman has spent the campaign on loan in the capital and has got plenty of minutes under his belt.

He is widely tipped to leave Anfield this summer in order to seek a permanent home after loan spells with Derby County, Bournemouth and the Bluebirds in recent years.

Mick McCarthy has been impressed with the 24-year-old since his arrival in south Wales, and admitted last week that he feels Wilson will want a permanent move this summer, although it would be highly unlikely that he will return to Cardiff.

"I don't think that will be the case," he said when asked if they could return to the Bluebirds next term. "Both Harry and Sheyi (Ojo) have got a year left and a year's option apparently.

"Harry has been at about four clubs and he wants a home somewhere, he wants to play permanently somewhere, and so does Sheyi.

"Loaning them out next year they'd be in the last year of their contract. Liverpool are going to have to sort themselves out - that's nothing to do with us.

"Would I have them back? Yeah, of course, they're really good players. But I don't think it will happen."

And Wilson, speaking to Sgorio, said that he has no idea where he'll be playing next season just yet.

"Not yet, my focus is on finishing the season strong here at Cardiff and then going to the Euros with Wales and doing will there," he said.

"Whatever happens off the back of that will happen.

"I think it would be silly of me to look beyond that with such an important summer coming up in the international level."

Wilson will have a year left on his contract when he returns to Liverpool after the Euros, with manager Jurgen Klopp keen to reinvest in his squad after a poor campaign by their recent standards. Indeed, our colleagues at Liverpool Echo report that the Reds are keeping tabs on Fiorentina's Dusan Vlahovic, who would cost them in the region of £40million.

To drum up cash for the overhaul, squad players and those out on loan are likely to be sold.

Wilson has been at Liverpool since the age of nine but the winger says he feels his senior career has been "elsewhere" after various loan stints.

"Yeah, maybe," he said, when asked if it would be strange to leave Merseyside for good.

"I feel my senior career has been elsewhere so far.

"150-200 appearances deep now and only a couple have been at Liverpool.

"The club will always be close to my heart, but if it means moving away to further my career then so be it."
