Perth will come out of its lockdown at midnight tonight, however Premier Mark McGowan has imposed interim restrictions until Saturday including a mask mandate, a four-square metre rule for businesses and restrictions on aged care visits.

"We can't go back to where we were like last week just yet," Mr McGowan said.

"This step-down approach will give us confidence to begin to get back to normal while we wait for further testing and the incubation period of the virus to come to an end," Mr McGowan said.

"From tomorrow, people in the Perth and Peel regions will be free to leave their homes, masks will remain mandatory as they are now, both indoors and outdoors and public transport.

"The stay-at-home order will be revoked, for the next four days people can return to work unless they can work from home. All schools will resume.

"All public venues including hospitality, entertainment and retail can reopen, except for the casino and nightclubs and indoor fitness venues. The four-square metre capacity role will be in place for this period only, with a limit of 20 patrons not including staff.
