A man has been refused bail after a siege that locked down part of a western Sydney street for almost nine hours.
Police allege Charlie McGee threatened officers who were conducting a parole check at his Denison Street, Carramar property.
The 35-year-old allegedly escaped out the back, running to a neighbour's unit and armed with a bladed weapon.

Armed officers negotiated with Mr McGee for hours as his girlfriend hid in a nearby bathroom.
He was arrested just before 10pm and taken to Fairfield police station and then on to hospital for treatment to minor injuries.
At one stage during the ordeal, Mr McGee could be heard yelling: "I'm not coming out, I'm not going back to jail".
Heavily armed police earlier flooded the area and the street was locked down for at least eight hours.

Specialist police called to the scene included the tactical operations unit and negotiators.
"It's alleged the 35-year-old man continued to threaten police for several hours before specialist police entered the premises," the spokeswoman said.
Already on parole, Mr McGee was charged with failing to comply with a supervision order and using an offensive weapon to prevent lawful detention.
