Former prime minister Tony Abbott says there is no doubt the Duke of Edinburgh was "a man's man", but he was "very much the Queen's man too".

"He was able to live a good and a decent life without feeling - in any way - that he needed to show off or overshadow someone else," Mr Abbott told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
