A Coles customer has impressed hundreds online by sharing how she managed to score unbelievable markdowns on seafood and meat.

Sheree, from Melbourne, only paid $23.35 for $355 worth of food by shopping in the evening - but said it was a matter of 'being at the right place at the right time' ahead of supermarket closures for the long weekend.

The huge buy included squid rings for 31c, huge bags of prawns for as little as 76c, chicken drumsticks for 39c and shredded ham for 79c.

Majority of the massive food haul was stored in the freezer once bought to have at a later date.

Sheree managed to score the massive food buy just before the Easter long weekend and saved $331.

'We were at Coles last night just before closing and hit the motherload of markdowns,' she wrote online.

'We paid $23 for $355 worth of meat and seafood. We now have our Good Friday dinner of seafood sorted. It came at the right time as our freezer was empty.'

According to the Food Safety chart, steaks, chops and roasts can last between four to 12 months in the freezer while most seafood can only last six months.
