The 2021 spring event in Pokémon Go is underway and brings a new Mega Pokémon to the mobile game.
Mega Lopunny will arrive in Pokémon Go starting Saturday, and trainers will want to battle as many as possible to gather enough Mega Energy to upgrade their Normal-type Pokémon from the Sinnoh region.
If you're looking to learn which Pokémon and attacks are effective in battle against Mega Lopunny, continue reading to find out.
POKEMON GO MEGA LOPUNNY COUNTERS
Mega Lopunny is a dual Normal and Fighting-type Pokémon, making it weak to Fighting, Fairy, Psychic and Flying-type attacks.
Pokémon Go has amassed a long list of powerful Fighting and Psychic-type Pokémon, especially when it comes to Legendaries. However, there are a couple of Mega Pokémon that trainers may want to consider in their battle against Mega Lopunny.

Mega Pidgeot is the best and obvious Mega Pokémon to bring into battle. Its Flying typing boosts the Flying-type attacks of every Pokémon you go into battle with, and it has a powerful quick and charged Flying-type attack that can chip away at Mega Lopunny's HP.
As for Mega Charizard Y, its Flying typing also boosts moves of the same type, but the Pokémon doesn't have an optimal charged attack to use. Air Slash is a great Flying-type quick attack, but trainers will have to rely on Blast Burn for a powerful charged attack.
Here are some options of Pokémon to take into battle against Mega Lopunny:
- Mega Pidgeot with Gust and Brave Bird
- Mega Charizard Y with Air Slash and Blast Burn
- Mewtwo with Confusion and Psystrike
- Metagross with Zen Headbutt and Psychic
- Alakazam with Confusion and Psychic
- Moltres with Wing Attack and Sky Attack
- Latios with Zen Headbutt and Psychic
- Machamp with Counter and Dynamic Punch
- Conkeldurr with Counter and Dynamic Punch
- Gardevoir with Confusion and Psychic
