Nottingham Forest ended their six-game winless run by beating Cardiff City 1-0 yesterday and many Reds fans were left impressed by 18-year-old Alex Mighten.
The teenager has started to establish himself in the Forest side this term and made his ninth Championship start of the season last night.
It was a different Forest young player, James Garner, that swept in the decisive goal in the 29th minute but Mighten's display deserves recognition as well.
The forward proved a constant nuisance on the left flank, with his direct running and pace hard to handle.
Mighten won nine of his 12 ground duels, was successful with 80% of his dribbles, and had two shots blocked (Sofascore).
But the Reds had to do their share of defending as well and the academy product proved his quality out of possession, making two clearances, two tackles, and one interception.
The forward looks set for a bright future and with his current deal running until 2025, it seems a fair bit of that could play out at the City Ground.
He's popular among the Forest faithful already, with many taking to Twitter to voice their excitement after his performance yesterday.
