An article stated that people who live in Scotland "are due to be allowed to leave their country for non-essential reasons from 26 April" (Welsh town ready for tourists to return, 27 March, page 6). That is the date when travel within all of mainland Scotland is due to be permitted. The government had also indicated that it hoped journeys to other parts of the UK might be possible from that date or soon thereafter, although this was subject to ongoing review.
