A Florida deputy smashed a glass door to rescue a family's pet dog from their burning house.

The law enforcement officer broke the front door when he heard the trapped animal scratching to escape as smoke poured out of the Palm Coast house.

The deputy then broke the front door, which allowed Steven and Autumn Konen's dog to escape and run over to firefighters.

Body camera video footage of the incident was posted to social media by the Flager County Sheriff's Office.

"While the dog was a little shaken up, there were no serious injuries," FCSO said.
