If you need any further proof that Sam Walker is ready for first grade, this is it.
After star halfback Luke Keary and five-eighth Lachlam Lam both succumbed to knee injuries last Friday against the Rabbitohs, Walker will make his NRL debut in round 4 against the Warriors.
At just 18 years of age, there is plenty of pressure on him to perform - especially considering he will don the No.7 jumper.
But the pressure seems to be something he is thriving under, after star fullback James Tedesco revealed a mid-week speech directed to the Roosters playing group from the rookie.
"It's devastating for us and for Luke, no one wants to have a season ending injury and we came in on Monday a bit down," Tedesco said on SEN's Breakfast With Vossy.
"We sort of tried to flush it as best we could and get excited about having Sam Walker come in.
"I know there's a lot of excitement that's built up about him, he's such an awesome player and he's been training the house down in the pre-season, he's got his opportunity a bit earlier than we thought.
"He actually got up and told us how we were going to play, he presented in front of our team and for an 18-year-old to do that it takes some courage.
"We're all excited to have him on board and we know it's going to be hard to do what Keary's done for us, but we're excited about him developing and becoming our man this year."
Walker has starred in the opening few rounds of NSW Cup, and will come into the side with plenty of confidence from playing against men as opposed to in an under-age competition.
The same can be said for Joseph Suaalii, who has been included in the 21-man squad for the Roosters this week, but seems unlikely to play.
Tedesco was full of praise for the 17-year old, and believes he will also develop into a special player in the coming years at Bondi.
"He's an impressive young man. He's got a steady head on his shoulders, very cool calm and collected," he said.
"His debut might come earlier than expected as well, but I know if he does get an opportunity, he will be ready.
"I was just watching him for the Bears in the centres, he doesn't look out of place at all. He is playing against men - he doesn't look 17.
"He might get a chance sometime soon, and if he does everyone will be excited and have the confidence in him to do a good job.
"He's obviously got a lot of hype around him, but he is going to develop into a pretty special player."
The injury-ravaged Roosters will take on the Warriors on Easter Sunday at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
