Fallowfield: Litter left behind by public in Platt Fields Park

Shocking photos show empty beer bottles, cans and boxes dumped in parks and on beaches. Parts of Cardiff city centre were strewn with litter last night, reports Wales Online.
Pictures show more alcohol bottles discarded on steps, throughfares and footpaths. Manchester Evening News reports scores of young people gathered in parks with little care for social distancing and behaved "disgracefully".
Dirty nappies and plastics were dumped on the sand and in the water on Barry Island, a popular tourist destination in south Wales.
One walker there said: "They left all their rubbish to get washed away. Bottles, toys, masks, towels, and of course nappies. I litter picked and the bins were vastly overflowing."
A Cardiff resident said: "I am constantly witnessing people publicly urinating on my doorstep, in the car park, outside the shops, it's disgusting.
"The amount of rubbish and glass that had been deliberately thrown on the ground is concerning.
"No thought to how it could affect dogs especially as the glass can stay in their paws. There are also so many families, children and people on bikes who use the area."

With temperatures exceeding 20C for large parts of the UK yesterday, many people travelled to tourist spots, including Barry Island.
But some of those who stayed local ignored social distancing guidelines.
Photos taken in a park in Fallowfield, Manchester, show hundreds of young people mingling at close distance.
One resident even claimed she saw some people urinate in the green space.
She said: "Students and young locals treat it like a Parklife event.
"As soon as the sun comes out, because there are no bars, restaurants or pubs open due to the lockdown, they all flock to the park.
"When the alcohol is flowing and there are no facilities open they are using the back of people's houses to urinate and defecate."

She continued: "This is outrageous as it is against the law to do this in a public place.
"They have no shame as when approached they just laugh or give verbal abuse and if they see you looking out at them they look up and wave.
"They just don't care at all.
"Some play musical instruments or just blast music and they are constantly urinating at the back of people's houses - they even queue up to do it.
"It is disgraceful.
"The rule of six has gone out of the window and no one is wearing a mask.
"The top of the hill is covered with litter and even though some people do try to throw their rubbish away, the bins are completely overflowing so they can't."

Gas cannisters were dotted around on the grass and bins were overflowing.
Dozens of plastic carrier bags and piles of burnt out rubbish were also left behind at the park.
Biffa workers were pictured cleaning up the mess this morning.

Current restrictions now allow six people from different households to meet outside.
There were similar scenes in other cities yesterday, including Nottingham.
Parks there were packed with young people enjoying the weather and drinking.
One resident said: "It was literally a sea of people from the car park covering the whole field, Goose Fair would not have fitted there.
"Hundreds of people on surrounding streets too. Rubbish all over the place and no authority figure in sight."
