The legacy of The Big Bang Theory will be continuing long in the future through spin-off Young Sheldon.
CBS has confirmed that the prequel series will be renewed beyond its current fourth season. for three years! Three more seasons guarantee the show will continue until at least season 7.
Network boss Kelly Kahl shared the exciting news on Tuesday (March 30): "Under Chuck Lorre's and Steve Molaro's deft leadership, this superb cast and gifted writers have truly brought these wonderful characters to life.

"Young Sheldon dominates the broadcast comedy landscape by over +2.5 million viewers and is the lynchpin of CBS' top-rated Thursday comedy lineup. The humour, warmth and heart exuded by the Cooper family is an undeniable hook for the millions of fans who tune in each week.
"We're excited to see what the next three seasons have in store for a slightly older Sheldon and all the Coopers."
The sitcom features Iain Armitage as the iconic Big Bang Theory character made famous by Jim Parsons, and chronicles his childhood in a small-minded Texas community.
Parsons executive produces the series and narrates in a reprisal of his Sheldon Cooper character. The show was created by Big Bang bosses Chuck Lorre and Steven Molaro.

Young Sheldon also recently signed up one of the stars of Lorre's former show Two and a Half Men, when Melanie Lynskey joined the cast as Sheldon's philosophy teacher Professor Ericson.
Young Sheldon airs on Thursday nights on CBS in the US, and also is shown in the UK on E4.
